Lucideon Group Limited has three subsidiaries: Lucideon Limited headquartered in the UK; Lucideon M&P headquartered in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Lucideon CICS, its assurance division. All subsidiaries do business as Lucideon. We also have Lucideon-accredited laboratories in the Far East.
Lucideon M&P (formerly The M&P Lab) was originally established in the 1920s as a Materials and Processes Laboratory to support GE’s businesses in Schenectady, NY - power generation and others. It became an independent laboratory in 1986, growing its client base to include aerospace, defense, automotive, and medical device manufacturers, as well as manufacturers of chemicals, high-tech metals, plastics, ceramics, pulp and paper, and structural composites. It established a reputation as both a complete testing laboratory and an industrial materials consultancy, and opened a sister lab in Greenville, SC.
In April 1948 the British Ceramic Research Association was created by the fusion of the British Refractories Research Association, which had been in existence since 1920 and the British Pottery Research Association, which was founded in 1937. In May 1986 the company name changed to British Ceramic Research Ltd and began using the trading name CERAM Research Ltd. In December 2006 CERAM acquired The M&P Lab.
On the 1st February 2014, members of the group rebranded under Lucideon, bringing all the businesses under one company name.
In 2015, Lucideon opened a commercial development office in Raleigh, NC to further promote collaborations between academia and industry.
