World Ceramics Abstracts Database

Produced by Lucideon, the WCA database is a key resource for global information on ceramic materials, processing, properties and applications. The database currently contains over 250,000 records dating from 1978 and is updated with new abstracts every month.

Sectors covered include: Advanced Ceramics, Bioceramics, Engineering Ceramics, Electroceramics, Traditional Ceramics (tableware, tiles, sanitaryware), Raw Materials and Minerals, Refractories, Building Ceramics, Glass and Vitreous Enamels. Coverage also includes Commercial and Economic Information, Statistical Information, Company Activities, Environmental matters, Properties and Testing.

Source materials include a wide range of international publications including industry journals, books and conference proceedings.

Full text copies of articles abstracted in the database can be requested from Lucideon's Knowledge Centre.

Faults Guide (Traditional Ceramics)

The Faults Guide provides an introduction to the most common faults that can occur in the manufacture of traditional ceramic products. The guide covers faults that occur in making, glazing & decoration across the main product types. Faults can occur at any stage of the production, some are due to human error and others are related to technical problems. The guide is in a database format and can be browsed and / or searched.

The library at Lucideon contains an extensive collection of books, journals, reports and conference proceedings, including a comprehensive collection of material on ceramics. Much of this material can be obtained on loan or copies can be provided, subject to Copyright Regulations.
