Dielectric Constant and Dissipation Factor - ASTM D150 - Test Methods
This testing standard sets forth standard test methods for the determination of the AC loss characteristics and permittivity of solid electrical insulation.
Overview
This method is used to determine the dielectric constant, dissipation factor, loss index, power factor, phase angle, and loss angle of electrically insulating materials using commercial grade frequencies of 20 Hz to 1 MHz.
Applications and Benefits
Lucideon provides quantitative results for the dielectric constant and dissipation factor of electrically insulating materials in compliance with ISO 17025, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and 10 CFR Part 21 quality management system requirements to support ASTM D150 testing requirements for industry.
Form of Results
Results for dielectric constant and dissipation factor do not have units. However, they can be provided as % values if requested.
