Detrimental Materials Analysis - MIL-STD-2041 - Test Method

The purpose of this standard is to establish uniform requirements for control of detrimental materials in products and equipment that come in contact with special purpose hardware.

Overview

This standard is used to determine the levels of detrimental materials (halides, sulfur, low melting alloys) present in products and materials that come into contact with specialized hardware intended for use in the nuclear and/or defense industries.

Applications and Benefits

Lucideon provides quantitative results including concentration of water leachable halides (bromine, chlorine and fluorine), sulfur, total halides, total sulfur, mercury, phosphorous and low melting alloys (antimony, bismuth, cadmium, lead, tin and zinc) in compliance with ISO 17025, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and 10 CFR Part 21 quality management system requirements to support MIL-STD-2041 material verification testing and testing to support nuclear Commercial Grade Dedication plans.

Form of Results

Results are typically reported in parts per million (ppm) and are compared to specified levels in the standard, or client requirements.  Certificates of Conformance are generated upon request.
