Expertise in: Medical device testing, orthopaedics
Biomedical Engineer and Technical Lead for Wear Testing
Leah holds a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Manitoba in Canada. At Lucideon, she provides technical expertise in medical device testing, with a focus on the Orthopaedic sector. She is a member of both ISO and ASTM committees for orthopaedic device testing.
Prior to joining Lucideon, Leah managed a tribology and metrology laboratory in Canada, working closely with a team of orthopaedic surgeons, engineers, and clinical researchers. She has contributed to a number of implant retrieval publications, combining failure analysis techniques with clinical data in order to assess the performance and survivorship of joint replacement systems. In addition, her research examined the effects of lubricant composition on polyethylene wear, incorporating elements of tribology, biochemistry, and clinical data.
Leah enjoys engaging clients in discussions about their projects, and the challenges in testing new and innovative products.
