Lucideon to Present at UK Construction Week and Modular Matters in October 2018

Lucideon will be presenting at UK Construction Week (UKCW) on Wednesday 10 October at 15:00, and at Modular Matters on Tuesday 20 October 2018 at 15:20; both events are taking place at the NEC, Birmingham.

Joanne Booth, business manager – construction at Lucideon, will be delivering both presentations.

Modular Matters will focus on the latest developments, innovations and investments in the volumetric modular offsite sector and aims to engage with industry pioneers from within the offsite supply-chain, leading designers, specifiers, engineers and ground-breaking clients.

Lucideon's Modular Matters presentation, 'Methodologies for Testing Modular Construction in the Laboratory and Onsite', will discuss appropriate laboratory testing regimes and their relationship to subsequent onsite tests, and whether this can form the basis of an industry standard.

The UK's largest built environment event, UKCW consists of nine shows: Timber Expo, Build Show, Civils Expo, Plant & Machinery Live, Energy 2018, Building Tech Live, Surface & Materials Show and HVAC 2018. UKCW is designed to bring all stakeholders from within the built environment together to look, talk, plan, learn and do business.

'Routes to Market for Modular and Volumetric Housing', Lucideon's presentation at UKCW, will look at how testing and specification of offsite modular housing currently falls outside of recognised European standards and examine the different routes available which allow systems to go to market. These will include third party certification, European Technical Approvals, UKAS-certified testing schemes and LABC and BOPAS sign-off.

Dr Geoff Edgell, director and principal consultant - construction at Lucideon, said:

"Both events provide a great opportunity to share our knowledge and experience of testing offsite and modular products and systems. With no recognized standards within the industry, it's imperative to conduct testing to verify performance and achieve approval."
