Lucideon to Present at the Ceramitec Conference
Two of Lucideon’s experts will be presenting at the Ceramitec Conference that is taking place in Munich, Germany, 19-20 September 2019.
Dr Richard Padbury, senior technology consultant, will be talking about data-driven approaches to material and process development in his presentation at 15:30 on Thursday 19 September. Lucideon and its partners are focused on the development of data-driven services to support multiple segments involved in technical ceramics and advanced manufacturing processes. Richard will cover the data science toolbox that highlights trade-offs in explanatory and predictive power between the emerging use of machine learning (ML), artificial intelligence (AI), and more familiar techniques in statistics.
Examples of how various companies, academic institutions and government organizations are using these techniques will also be shared to demonstrate how the data-science tool box can be accessed and leveraged for specific challenges.
At 14:00 on Friday 20 September, Dr. Kambiz Kalantari, innovations manager, will be talking about Additive Manufacturing as a new disruptive technology in ceramics manufacturing. Using examples, the presentation will demonstrate a high level review of Ceramic Additive Manufacturing as a forming technique. It will also include a discussion of how the technique can act as a game changer in the ceramic manufacturing process. The presentation also proposes criteria that manufacturers should consider before making the decision to switch to Additive Manufacturing.
