Samira has key interests in materials science and engineering that stem from her background in Physics (BSc) and Nanoscience (MSc) which she further explored during her PhD at the University of Sheffield. Throughout Samira's research, she focused on ceramics processing and tribology of biomaterials for artificial hip replacement applications.
With expertise in processing, development and characterisation of ceramic materials, through both conventional and Spark Plasma Sintering, Samira is part of the Field Enhanced Sintering (FES) Team as a ceramics technical consultant to work on optimizing materials properties for a variety of applications using FES.
